We are looking for something new project where we could practice our skills.

1. ThePirateBay.com top 200 text parser

Main area would be movies, but later could add games, music and so on.
  • takes the list parses from internet(could be done both web or desktop app
  • sort the list, remove duplicates, remove unwanted text, keeps only the name
  • uses some other web to get the information about the movie example IMDB
  • adds the information to app, save it to xml or use database

Sounds like a nice project to do, I haven't done a lot with xml parsing on the web but it should be doable. When do you want to start and what about svn servers, design, class diagrams etc? I have a local svn server running that you can use but its not online 24/7.

I've found a pretty interesting link about processing XML files. http://www.cafeconleche.o...g/books/xmljava/chapters/

It's a good read if u have the time for it.
